Meet Santa At The Mall At Prince George's

HYATTSVILLE, MD — Start spreading Christmas cheer early this year—and get some holiday shopping done—at the Mall at Prince Georges starting this weekend. Their holiday event schedule kicks off Saturday with SantaFest! from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

SantaFest is one of the mall's most highly anticipated events of the year, featuring a "naturally bearded African-American santa," DIY ornament decorating and art projects with Art Works Now, a live DJ, prizes, Santa cookies and more.

Families can also get their photos taken with Santa, starting Saturday and ending Sunday, Dec. 24. Photo packages are available and prices range from $24.99 - $49.99.

The Santa Hours are:

• Saturday, from 10 a.m.- 8 p.m.; break times at 1- 2 p.m. & 5 - 6 p.m.
• Sunday, 11a.m. - 6 p.m.; break from 2 - 2:30 p.m.
• Christmas Eve, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• Mondays are Pet Photo Days 10 a.m. - 8 p.m

For children with autism and other special needs, the mall is hosting its first-ever Sensory Santa event Sunday, Dec. 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Partnering with Autism Speaks, this event allows children with sensitivities to take part in this holiday tradition, according to a press release.

The mall will also host concerts with local musicians, schools and community groups throughout the holiday season. Performances include:

• Dec. 2, 2-4 p.m. – A Jazzy Christmas with Petra Martin and Trio
• Dec. 9, 2 -4 p.m. – Prince George’s County Youth Jazz Ensemble
• Dec. 16, 12-2p.m. – Largo High School – performs at the Kennedy Center on December 17
• Local Schools and Community Groups will perform on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from December 5 – 21 at 12 p.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m.

The mall is located at 3500 East-West Hwy, Hyattsville. The mall is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.. Monday through Saturday and 12-6 p.m. Sunday.
