Prince George's County Board of Ed. Member Honored

Lupi Quniteros-Grady will receive the Center for Nonprofit Advancement's 2016 Phyllis Campbell Newsome Public Policy Leadership Award.

Prince George’s County Board of Education Member Lupi Quniteros-Grady will receive for The Center for Nonprofit Advancement’s 2016 Phyllis Campbell Newsome Public Policy Leadership Award.

Quinteros-Grady, who represents District 2, is one of four public officials selected for her work to build a strong nonprofit sector and a more vibrant community.

“It is an honor to be recognized for work I feel passionately about,” said Quinteros-Grady. “This award is a great reminder that what we do for our community matters.”

Quinteros-Grady joined the Prince George’s County Board of Education in 2015. She currently serves as the Deputy Director for the Maryland Multicultural Youth Centers, an organization that serves minority and immigrant youth. She has worked in the field of youth development for 20 years, launching and managing such programs as Upward Bound, Workforce Programs, Conservation Corps, and AmeriCorps.

“Since joining the Board of Education, Ms. Quinteros-Grady has proven herself as an effective leader who is committed to the students in this county,” said Dr. Segun Eubanks, Prince George’s County Board Chair. “She is very deserving of this award and a great example of the type of leadership we have on our Board.”

Quinteros-Grady will receive the award Tuesday, October 23 at the Center for Advancement’s 37th Annual Meeting and Celebration in D.C.
