Shooting At 'Large Gathering' In Landover Kills 1, Wounds Others

SPRINGDALE, MD — One person was killed, and three others injured, during a shooting in the Landover area late Saturday night, according to a report.

Prince George County police said the shooting that unfolded around 11:30 p.m. in the 8600 block of Ardwick Ardmore Road left one man dead, according to a WTOP News report. One of the three people injured was in critical condition Sunday morning, the report said.

The identity of the fatal victim had not been released as of early Sunday afternoon.

The gunfire erupted during what was described to the news channel as a "large gathering" that occurred during what has been a peak in coronavirus cases and deaths nationwide.

In Maryland, newly enacted coronavirus restrictions limit indoor gatherings to 10 people, while outdoor gatherings are able to include as many as 25 people.

The WTOP News report did not state how large the gathering was.
