Top 10 Baby Names in Maryland

The Social Security Administration recently released its lists of the most popular baby names in each state in 2014.

The stork has arrived, the numbers are in, and the official list of Maryland’s most popular baby names of 2014 is out.

The Social Security Administration released the 2014 results on Friday. Noah was the state’s most popular name, with 321 Noahs born in Maryland in 2014. Olivia was the most popular girl’s name, with 347 babies taking the name.

For the second year in a row, Noah was the country’s most popular name for a boy, and Emma was the most popular girl’s name nationally.

Lots of organizations release lists of top names, but the Social Security Administration data are based on a 100 percent sample of the agency’s records on Social Security card applications as of the end of February 2015.
