What's Open, What's Closed on Thanksgiving 2015 in Prince George's County?

Some county offices are closed Friday, as well, and transportation services are affected by the holiday.

Prince George’s County government offices will be closed on Nov. 26 and Nov. 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday, with the exception of the facilities and operations noted below.

Also, the county’s public schools are closed Nov. 25-27 for the holiday.

  • Animal Services Facility: Closed Nov. 26, Open Nov. 27
  • Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill: Closed Nov. 26, Open Nov. 27
  • Brown Station Road Public Convenience Center: Closed Nov. 26, Open Nov. 27
  • Electronics Recycling Acceptance Site: Closed Nov. 26, Open Nov. 27
  • Household Hazardous Waste Acceptance Site: Closed Nov. 26, Open Nov. 27
  • Missouri Avenue Solid Waste Acceptance and Recycling Center: Closed Nov. 26, Open Nov. 27
  • Prince George’s County Yard Waste Composting Facility: Closed Nov. 26, Open Nov. 27
  • Bulky Trash Collection: No Collection Nov. 26, No Collection Nov. 27
  • Trash Collection in County-Contracted Areas: No Collection Nov. 26, Collection Resumes Nov. 27
  • Curbside Recycling Collection: No Collection Nov. 26, Collection Resumes Nov. 27

TheBus, a public transit service operated by the Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation, will not operate on Nov. 26. Regular service operations will resume on Nov. 27, except for Route 51 which serves county government buildings. Regular service on Route 51 will resume on Nov. 30.

In addition, the County’s Para-Transit and Call-A-Bus service will not operate on Nov. 26 or Nov. 27. Regular service operations of the Para-transit services and Call-A-Bus will resume on Nov. 30.

The Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement will be closed on Nov. 26 and Nov. 27. Normal business hours will resume on Nov. 30.

Prince George’s County Click 3-1-1 will also be closed on Nov. 26 and Nov. 27 and will return to normal operations on Nov. 30. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online.
