In this 75 minute Sound Journey participants will comfortably assume savasana poses with eye coverings (suggested but not mandatory). This will allow for an inward journey facilitated by a myriad of sounds. Phil will utilize instruments/tools including bamboo chimes, a bison skin drum, rattles, crystal bowls, a gong, an ocean drum, a tongue drum, and a Tibetan metal singing bowl to open the doorways to inner exploration and experience. This variety of sounds typically elicits an array of experiences- not just relaxation alone. It is encouraged that participants set intentions of inviting whatever experiences are most beneficial for them at this phase of their journey. The final 10-12 minutes of the session will be safe-space sharing of experiences. Only those who wish to share will share.

Grupo Fenix is a Washington, DC-based collective of musicians focused on preserving and promoting musical genres from Mexican and Latin American cultures. 
Prior to the music performance will be an award winning Latin dancer teaching a salsa lesson for 45 minutes.
