New Ramen Restaurant Now Open In Anne Arundel County
A new ramen restaurant opened recently in Anne Arundel County. The Gambrills eatery also serves seaweed salad, spring rolls and pork buns.
GAMBRILLS, MD — A new ramen restaurant opened recently in Gambrills. The eatery, named Akira Ramen & Izakaya, is located in the Waugh Chapel Towne Centre.
This is the business's sixth site. The other locations are in:
- Baltimore
- Columbia
- Rockville
- Washington, D.C.
- White Marsh
"We specialize in taking the authentic ramen experience to the next level," the chain's website said. "We offer unique in-house broth that would suit everyones' taste ... With extra toppings as an option, you can customize your ramen anytime."

The ramen comes with an assortment of bases. Choices include beef, seafood, vegetables and more. Every bowl features thin and curly noodles that are made in-house each day.
Customers can also feast on seaweed salad and spring rolls. Other favorites include tempura and chashu buns, which are stuffed with pork.

For dessert, patrons can enjoy soft-serve ice cream. Guests can choose between the vanilla or matcha green tea flavors.
Akira Ramen opened last month next to the Regal Waugh Chapel movie theater. The eatery's address is 1417 South Main Chapel Way Suite 108.
The restaurant's hours are:
- Monday through Thursday: 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday: 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
- Sunday: Noon to 9:30 p.m.
