Beloved Doctor Who Served Thousands In Anne Arundel County Dies At 84: Obituary

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — A beloved doctor from Anne Arundel County died Saturday, an obituary said. The popular pediatrician, Dr. Natwarlal "Natu" B. Shah, was 84 years old.

Shah was best known for his practice that served the Crofton, Gambrills and Odenton areas. The doctor worked with 30,000 children over 35 years, a Patch neighbor post said. He also assisted several charities focused on food relief and disadvantaged women.

"Many knew Dr. Shah for his selfless dedication as a loving pediatrician," the obituary said. "Dr. Shah centered his life around his core values of taking care of others, doing the right thing, and perseverance. His warmth, generosity and big smile will be missed by many."

Shah was born in Halol, India on Nov. 2, 1937. He immigrated to the United States in 1966. Shah settled in the Maryland suburbs after a stint in Washington, D.C.

The obituary said Shah's wife of 62 years, Pushpa, died 13 months ago.

• Grandchildren: Hira, Tara, Kiran and Mareen

• Extended family in India

Shah's funeral is Thursday at 11 a.m. The service will be hosted in Odenton at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 1411 Annapolis Road.
