LINTHICUM, MD — A bomb threat kept arriving passengers on the BWI Airport tarmac for more than two hours Wednesday night, WBAL first reported.

WBAL said somebody emailed the threat to the Maryland Transportation Authority Police during American Airlines Flight 2251. That route travels from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

"The FBI along with our law enforcement partners investigated a threat to an airplane which landed at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport Wednesday night," a spokesperson for the FBI Baltimore Field Office told Patch in a Friday email. "An assessment is always conducted following receipt of a threat. The investigation determined no known credible threat to the aircraft or passengers."
