Cecil Warren Rogers, 84, of Gambrills

GAMBRILLS, MD — Cecil Warren Rogers, 84, a resident of Regency Park in Gambrills, MD, passed away on March 17, 2016. Born on May 7, 1931 in West Virginia, Cecil served in the U.S. Army from 1949 through 1969, retiring as a first sergeant (E-8).

He was one of the original members of Old South Country Club, past president of the Kiwanis Club and past president of the resident council at Regency Park. Cecil enjoyed golfing, walking, boating and fishing for rockfish.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 55 years, June Agnes Rogers who died in 2006, and five brothers, William, Darrel, Ralph, Robert and Richard Rogers.

Cecil is survived by five sons, Richard (Robin) Rogers of Tracys Landing, David Rogers of Pasadena, Chuck (Eileen) Rogers of Dundalk, Robert (Lisa) Rogers of Severna Park and Cecil (Trenda) Rogers of Pasadena; four daughters, Jackie (Skip) Cavey of Pasadena, Irma (Rick) Andrews of Philadelphia, PA, Faye (Larry) Kiessling of Severn and Cindy (Chris) Blades of Florida; five brothers, Don, Willard, Ronald, Larry and Jerry Rogers; and four sisters, Melba Vaughn, Bobby Jean Rey, Judy Starling and Rita Bayton; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call on Tuesday, March 22, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater. Funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Odenton Volunteer Fire Department, 1425 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113.
