Delta Stops BWI Flights Temporarily: Report

The airline reportedly ran out of deicing fluid and had to put a temporary stop on flights.

LINTHICUM, MD β€” Planes for one airline were temporarily stopped Wednesday afternoon at Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport, according to Fox 45. The news station was reporting that Delta was "pausing its operations" out of BWI until Wednesday evening because snow was heavier than expected and it ran out of deicer.

Other flights may be impacted due to the snow, according to airport officials.

"We do expect widespread airline flight cancellations for this afternoon and evening," BWI said in a statement around 2 p.m. on Wednesday. "Travelers should contact their carriers for specific flight information."
