ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Multiple lottery players won or claimed a combined $1.1 million last week in Anne Arundel County.

Gambrills Winner Will Buy House

The top prize of $1 million came in Millersville. Gambrills man Gregory Snider, 33, bought 10 Cash4Life draw game tickets on June 15 while getting his morning coffee.

Snider doesn't play the lottery often, but he had been having dreams for three weeks about coming into a lot of money. That morning, the heavy equipment operator felt drawn to the lottery's self-service kiosk.

"It was like the machine was pulling me in," Snider said in a press release after claiming his prize last Friday.

He purchased the tickets, went to work and checked the results later.

The father of three hit all five numbers, but he did not correctly guess the Cash Ball. That means he won a second-tier prize worth $1 million straight up or $1,000 a week for life, which is paid in annual installments of $52,000. Snider chose the lump sum of $1 million.

Snider and his wife, Sarah Brown, plan to use the money to buy a bigger house.

“We’ve been saving to do it," Snider said. "This will give it to us now. We want to give our kids a better life.”

Snider picked up the ticket at Wawa No. 572, located at 8300 Veterans Highway. The store will get a $2,500 bonus for selling a second-tier winner.

Other Residents Win Big

The second-largest win of $33,485 followed last Thursday in Odenton. The participant was playing Racetrax, a virtual horse racing game, at Lucky’s Deli & Market. The convenience store is situated at 1101 Odenton Road. This winner already collected their check.

Annapolis saw several major prizes last week. The city's largest victories happened last Saturday when a pair of Pick 5 draw game tickets won $25,000 each. These tickets were purchased at 7-Eleven No. 33378, located at 710 Bestgate Road. One ticket is claimed, and the other was unclaimed as of Tuesday.

Another Annapolis player scored $10,000 on a Mega Millions draw game ticket sold last Thursday at Beehive Package Mart (Bella’s Liquors), situated at 1376 Cape St. Claire Road. This winner already claimed their prize.

The final victory also came in the state capital. Somebody scored $10,000 on the Deluxe Crossword scratch-off at the Quick Save Mart located at 524 Defense Highway. This participant picked up their winnings last week.

Across Maryland

Around the state, 38 tickets worth at least $10,000 were sold or redeemed in the week ending June 19. The Maryland Lottery paid nearly $35.1 million in prizes over those seven days.

Snider's $1 million win tied for the biggest purse in the state.

His counterpart came in Bel Air, where a Harford County man claimed the top prize on a Money Explosion scratcher. That player bought his ticket at the MacPhail Exxon situated at 600 West MacPhail Road.
