New Shoe Store Opens At Arundel Mills, Marks 3rd Anne Arundel County Location

HANOVER, MD — Downtown Locker Room opened a new store Tuesday in its hometown mall of Arundel Mills.

This is the third Anne Arundel County location for the Hanover-based company, also known as DTLR. The national chain also has stores in Annapolis and Glen Burnie.

"DTLR has been a part of the fabric of the Anne Arundel County community since its inception and is excited to further its presence in the area through this new prominent store location," DTLR CEO Todd Kirssin said in a press release reviewed by the Baltimore Business Journal. "We look forward to building our retail and community presence in the area and welcoming new customers to our store."

DTLR joins a slate of new additions to Arundel Mills that includes Pandora jewelry, Lacoste clothing, Hey Dude shoes, Kids Empire play area and a newly expanded T-Mobile phone store.

The BBJ reported that DTLR was founded in 1982 and acquired by the U.K.'s JD Sports Fashion plc in 2021. The shoe store now has nearly 250 locations spread across 19 states, the business journal said, noting that this is the 26th Maryland store.

The grand opening festivities start Tuesday at noon.

Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman will join Kirssin and DTLR Senior Vice President of Marketing and Community Engagement Antonio Gray at the ceremony, the BBJ reported.

DTLR is located in the mall's Neighborhood 4 between the New Balance Factory Store and VisionWorks. The closest mall entrances are next to ULTA Beauty and Chevy's Fresh Mex. A map is posted here.
