Huntley Cross, 73, of Annapolis

Huntley Cross, 73, a native of Pennsylvania and a 50-year resident of Annapolis, passed away on May 27, 2015. He was born on February 7, 1942 in Uniontown, PA to the late Huntley and Viola Miller Cross.

Huntley and his wife, Carol Cross were married July 11, 1964. Huntley and Carol moved to Annapolis, where he began work with the Anne Arundel Public School System. Huntley received his bachelor’s degree from California State College of Pennsylvania and then went on to LaSalle University, where he received his PhD. He would ultimately become the special assistant to the Superintendent of Schools in Anne Arundel County.

Huntley enjoyed coaching basketball, training dogs, and most especially his German Shepherds.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol on May 24, 2015.

He is survived by his son, Mark (Lane) Bolyard of Sterling, VA; a sister Elizabeth Ann of Pittsburgh, PA; two grandchildren, Corey and Owen Bolyard.

Visitation with the family will be June 4 from 6-8 p.m. and a Memorial Service will be held on June 5 at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1300 West St. in Annapolis.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Huntley and Carol’s honor to the Mid-Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue (MAGSR), P.O. Box 353 Mt. Airy, MD 21771.
