Home Invasion Shooting Hospitalizes Anne Arundel County Man: Police

A man was shot when somebody invaded his home, Anne Arundel County police said. He was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

LAUREL, MD β€” A Laurel man was shot Friday when somebody invaded his townhome, police said.

Officers said the 27-year-old victim was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said the shooting happened around 9:50 p.m. in the 200 block of Sweetbay Lane. That's located just off Laurel Fort Meade Road near its junction with the Baltimore Washington Parkway.

Police said they found the gunshot victim, who lives in the home that was invaded, upon arrival.

Officers said they gave first aid until medics took the victim to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Authorities said they are looking for at least one unknown suspect.
