Marty Knepp, 52, of Annapolis, died Thursday, April 30. He leaves behind a legacy as a great father, husband, friend, musician and teacher.

Marty’s music background started at Arundel High School under the direction of Dr. Phil Butts. He has a degree from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music. He played both drums and vibes in many groups around the Washington/Baltimore area. He also taught at Anne Arundel Community College, and taught lessons in jazz, big band, clinics and session work.

Marty is creating peace and groove in heaven’s throne room, because his passion was always music. As he always said, “A groove is a terrible thing to waste.” Peace and groove to you all!

Visitation will be Thursday, May 7, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at Beall Funeral Home in Bowie. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 8, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church in Millersville. Interment will be private.
