FORT MEADE, MD β€” Senior pranksters tried to sell Meade High School on a real estate website last week.

The students listed the school on Zillow for $42,069. The sellers touted a spacious parking lot, kitchen and dining room. They also boasted features like a private turf field, basketball court and study.

On the other hand, the pranksters took a few jabs at the "nice half working jail."

"All 15 bathrooms come with sewage issues!" the listing said. "The school also comes with dangerous unfinished sections that could cost you your life!"

The listing was posted on May 23. It was still active when Patch checked last Thursday, but it was removed by Tuesday morning.

"Your neighbors are rodents and insects that will make you squeal!" the listing said while it was still active. "The school comes with complementary trash scented air freshener and water issues!"

Bob Mosier, a spokesperson for Anne Arundel County Public Schools, found the prank amusing and added a few jokes.

"This is incredibly creative advertising, but we are stunned that the listers so vastly underestimated the value of this prime real estate with amazing amenities," Mosier told Patch. "Potential buyers surely will be flocking to snap this deal up, right? This won’t be on the market for long."

This is the second time in recent years that AACPS students tried to sell their school as a senior prank.

Broadneck High students hung a for sale sign outside their school in spring 2020. The sign advertised the building with 100+ rooms that had been vacant for months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It, like the Meade High School prank, was simply funny," Mosier said. "No one was hurt, no property was damaged, and everyone got a great laugh."

A photo of Broadneck's for sale sign is posted in this Baltimore Banner story.
