New Pizzeria Opening This Week In Anne Arundel County

GAMBRILLS, MD — A new pizzeria will host its grand opening Thursday in Gambrills.

The restaurant, MOD Pizza, will be located in The Village at Waugh Chapel. The eatery fills the vacancy left by Pier 1 Imports.

MOD Pizza renovated the former furniture store into a modern space. Globe lighting fixtures hang from the ceiling, and high-top tables offer dine-in seating.

Customers can order a classic pie or salad. Patrons can also create their own as they walk down the aisle with more than 40 toppings and 8 finishing sauces.

MOD Pizza has 531 opened or planned locations in 29 states.

The Gambrills site will be the 19th in Maryland. It will be located at 1350 Main Chapel Way. Customers can call the restaurant at (443) 494-5949 or visit its website for more information.

The chain has three other eateries in Anne Arundel County. Those are in Annapolis, Glen Burnie and Severna Park.

Fundraising For Charity

MOD Pizza is currently fundraising for two nonprofits.

For every pride cake sold through July 31, participating MOD Pizzas will donate 25¢ to The Trevor Project. This nonprofit is the world's largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ youth. More details on this partnership are available here.

The other initiative supports Best Buddies International, a group that promotes the social inclusion and employment of people with disabilities.

Best Buddies International will earn 50¢ for every Mod Value(s) Meal, which includes a MOD-size pizza or salad and a drink. Customers can similarly add a side of MODness to any purchase to donate 50¢. The maximum donation will be $500,000. Visit this link to learn more.
