SEVERN, MD — Funeral services will be held Thursday for Sgt. Eddison Alexander Hermond, 39, of Severn, the National Guardsman who died trying to help someone in distress when he was swept away by the fast-moving waters in Ellicott City last month.

Eddison was born on August 15, 1978 and passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. Eddison was a resident of Maryland at the time of passing.

A public visitation will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018, from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at The Church at Severn Run 8187 Telegraph Rd, Severn, MD 21144. Funeral service will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. and will conclude at noon.
Interment will follow to Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, 1122 Sunrise Beach Rd, Crownsville, MD 21032. Services will include military honors.
