ODENTON, MD β€” An Arundel High School football player gained notoriety after he performed a stirring rendition of the National Anthem while standing at the 50-yard line dressed in full pads, a guitar in his hands. The defensive end has since graduated and moved to Nashville to pursue his dream of becoming a country music star after the video of that one performance exploded online.

Jackson Dean Nicholson was invited to appear on the Steve Harvey Show and taped in L.A. He couldn't wait to make it to the Grand Ole Opry though. Nicholson told WJLA he couldn't believe the video of him singing on the football field went viral.

"It was cool. It's been a whirlwind and I am trying to wrap my head around it," he said.
