Officer Investigated For Hitting Person With Squad Car: Police

The Anne Arundel County Police Department is investigating reports of a police officer hitting at least one person with his police car.

FORT MEADE, MD β€” The Anne Arundel County Police Department is investigating reports of an officer from the Western District hitting at least one person with his police car that caused minor injuries to the individual. The officer was responding to a call from the Corridor Marketplace on Laurel-Ft. Meade Road at approximately 10 p.m. Nov. 2. where hundreds of people had gathered to watch vehicles perform "racing-type maneuvers."

According to the police department, the officer pulled his vehicle into the crowd of onlookers and that is when he hit a person. The officer has since been suspended while the incident is being investigated.
