ODENTON, MD โ€” The originally scheduled varsity and JV football games between Old Mill and Meade have been canceled for tonight, Sept. 20, and will be played Monday in a stadium without spectators.

Only coaches, trainers, players, county and military police, as well as essential school personnel, will be allowed to attend the game at Meade, school officials announced Friday afternoon. The stadium and portions of school grounds are located inside Fort George G. Meade.

The extra precaution is being taken after an exchange of gunfire between two groups in Odenton Sept. 18. The shooting on Langdon Farm Circle at Commodore Drive was close enough to the school to prompt the game change. The JV game now will be played Monday at 4 p.m. and the varsity at 6 p.m. Fans can watch the game on the National Federation of High Schools website. It offered a free stream of both games on the NFHS Network.
