Tennis Facility Plans Unveiled At Millersville Site

MILLERSVILLE, MD — Tennis players and neighbors of the proposed Millersville Tennis Court turned out in droves for the Jan. 21 meeting of the Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks. The new park will be located across from Millersville Elementary School.

The County Council last year approved $6.53 million in the capital budget to fund construction of the tennis center. It will have 16 outdoor and eight indoor courts. Combine with parking and a clubhouse, the facility will cover a 33-acre piece of farm ground the county obtained through project Green Space in 2008.

The project is in its first phase calling for designs to be drawn up for all but the indoor facility and some of the outdoor courts, which will be addressed in the second and third phases.
