Weekend Heatwave: When Will 'Feels Like' Temps Hit 102 Degrees?

National Weather Service forecasts weekend, Sunday especially, to be a scorcher in Anne Arundel County.

Mild temperatures and low humidity are a thing of the past heading into the weekend as heat and humidity combine for a summer scorcher.

The Annapolis area weekend weather forecast calls for “feels like” temperatures of 100 degrees or higher by Sunday. And Saturday will be only slightly cooler.

Here’s what to expect, according to the National Weather Service:

  • Friday night: A slight chance of showers after 2 a.m. Low of 73. Chance of rain 20 percent.
  • Saturday: A slight chance of showers in the morning...then a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. High of 88 degrees. Chance of rain 30 percent. The hottest part of the day on Saturday will be between 5 and 7 p.m., when the heat index will hit 97 degrees, according to NWS.
  • Saturday night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then a slight chance of showers. Low of 77 degrees. Chance of rain 40 percent.
  • Sunday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Sunny with a high of 90. Chance of rain 30 percent.

The hottest part of the day on Sunday will also be between 4 and 7 p.m., when the heat index will hit 102 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
