What's Open, Closed In Odenton-Severn Area Around 4th Of July

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Many government services change their hours around holidays. Here is what's open and closed in Anne Arundel County around Independence Day, which is on Tuesday, July 4.

Schools: Anne Arundel County Public Schools are on summer vacation. Schools and central offices are closed Tuesday. The school calendar is available at this link.

Government Offices: Federal, State and Anne Arundel County government offices will be closed Tuesday only. City of Annapolis government offices are closed Monday and Tuesday.

Courts: Courts will be closed Tuesday. Court hours are listed here.

In Annapolis, the Pip Moyer Recreation Center and the Stanton Community Center will be open Monday until 6:30 p.m. Both centers will be closed Tuesday. The Stanton Community Center is also closed every Sunday. The Pip Moyer Recreation Center is open daily except on certain holidays, like Independence Day.

The Kenneth R. Dunn Municipal Pool at Truxtun Park is open for the summer. It will be open Monday until 7 p.m. The pool will also be open with reduced hours on Tuesday (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.).

Libraries: The Anne Arundel County Public Library will be closed Tuesday. A full list of library hours and contact information is posted here.

Post Offices: Post offices will be closed Sunday and Tuesday.

Trash And Recycling: All landfills and recycling centers will be closed Tuesday. Curbside collection has some changes. Tuesday collection will happen Wednesday. City of Annapolis trash and recycling pickup will also push Tuesday collection to Wednesday. All other days will remain the same. Anybody with questions about the city's trash removal should contact Annapolis Public Works at (410) 263-7949.

Buses: Annapolis Transit will not run its regular service this Tuesday. There will be a shuttle between Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and Calvert Steet at Bladen Street on Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. to midnight. Visit this website for more details.
