DUI Crackdown in PG County Yields 17 DUI Arrests

Maryland State Police made more than 7,000 traffic stops statewide over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

More than 7,000 traffic stops were made by Maryland State Police over the Fourth of July holiday, with a special enforcement effort in Prince George’s County netting 17 DUI arrests.

Preliminary statistics show more than 7,000 traffic stops were made, state police said in a news release. Troopers issued more than 5,100 citations and 4,100 warnings. There were an additional 790 repair orders issued for defective vehicle equipment.

The Maryland State Police S.P.I.D.R.E. team concentrated resources in the Langley Park area of Prince George’s County over the holiday weekend, where they arrested 17 drivers for DUI.

Of those arrested, six were repeat offenders and two others had children in their vehicle while allegedly driving while impaired.
