Man Dies After Car Crashes Into Pole: Police

A Brandywine man died early Thursday after his car left the road and crashed.

A Brandywine man died early Thursday when his car crashed into a pole, according to Prince George’s County Police.

The victim Marvin Nathaniel Duckett, 54, of Morano Drive in Brandywine.

Police were called to the 7400 block of Old Alexandria Ferry Road in Clinton just before 2 a.m. on the report of a single-car crash. When officers arrived, they found Duckett suffering from critical injuries; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

It appears Duckett was southbound on Old Alexandria Ferry Road approaching Highland Meadows Drive when, for unknown reasons, his car left the roadway and struck a pole, police say.
