WATER BROTHER is a feature documentary that follows the life of Sid Abbruzzi, an East Coast legend and culture icon. The film explores Sid’s lifelong passion for surfing, skating, and his commitment to protecting the sport’s history and culture. Through a mix of never-before-seen archival film, personal interviews, and large format cinematic footage, including interviews with culture giants such as Tony Hawk, Shepard Fairey, Selema Masekela and more; this documentary takes the audience on a journey through the history of surfing and skating – from 1960s Newport to Santa Cruz, Cocoa Beach, South Africa’s Jeffrey’s Bay, and beyond.

Come join AHS Football for a fun day of drills, competitions, and games with AHS players and coaches.
AHS Football will put on a youth clinic on Saturday, August 17th from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Peirce Field in Arlington. This is not a "drop-off" event - parents or guardians must be available for their child for the duration of the event. This event is open to children in grades 2-8 (age groups will be separated). The clinic is non-contact and no equipment is necessary but cleats are recommended. The cost is FREE but we will have the opportunity to donate to support AHS Football. Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood - a conversation with the artists of No Place Like Home

You’re invited to receive Buddhist teachings (dharma), practice meditation, and experience the relevance and benefits of Buddhist philosophy and meditation in daily life. People of all ages, backgrounds, and beliefs are welcome to this freely offered monthly event ~ donations gratefully accepted. Tsering Ngodup is a lama, or spiritual teacher, authorized to teach by HH ShaMar Rinpoche. He has devoted over twenty-five years to sharing the religious and spiritual teachings of Tibetan Buddhism in the West. He has traveled across the world, translating and interpreting Buddhist teachings for highly accomplished Tibetan lamas and masters from all four schools of Tibetan Buddhism. He is currently a chaplain at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center

Backyartists Art Studio

We would like to invite you to a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of Backyartists Art Studio, an early childhood&nbsp;art studio, at 8 Medford Street in Arlington Center. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 22nd at 10am. We opened this business during the height of the pandemic, originally delivering kits to families for home use during quarantine, while dreaming of someday opening our own process art and sensory play studio. Over the years, as children went back to school, our business model slowly evolved. We began offering in-person classes outdoors and then pivoted again when we began sharing space with another studio owner. We taught classes on a limited schedule these past three years and are thrilled to finally have our very own space! Owning our own studio means the flexibility to offer more programming and for a wider variety of ages. We hope you’ll join us in celebration!

Experience the masterful public works created by the celebrated 
American sculptor, Cyrus Dallin, for his adopted hometown. Learn the 
stories behind notable memorials and historic buildings, including the 
Uncle Sam Memorial Statue (1976), Soldiers &amp; Sailors Monument 
(1887), and the art deco Arlington Co-operative Bank (1934). Before or 
after the tour, plan to visit one of the many wonderful restaurants in 
Arlington Center. This tour is great for art and history enthusiasts of 
all ages!
Begins in front of the Cyrus Dallin Art Museum at 611 Mass. Ave. in 
Arlington. Metered parking is available in the municipal lot behind the 
building.
