Coronavirus Vaccine Information In Bedford

The Bedford Health Department is pleased that we have been able to provide coronavirus vaccinations to 200 Bedford residents.

February 25, 2021

The Bedford Health Department is pleased that we have been able to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to 200 Bedford residents at weekly clinics over the past two of weeks, with the capacity to do more. The limiting factor in distributing more vaccine has been the lack of supply. This week we were informed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health that we unfortunately will not be provided COVID-19 vaccine doses this week or in the foreseeable future, so at this time there are no scheduled Town of Bedford COVID-19 vaccine clinics. This is a policy change at the state level affecting most local health departments. Please see the full announcement, which also includes the opening of the next phase of eligibility: https://www.mass.gov/news/baker-polito-administration-announces-vaccine-appointment-booking-for-individuals-ages-65.

We strongly urge residents seeking vaccine, including those on the Town of Bedford vaccine wait list, to seek alternate venues for vaccination. Residents can ask their medical provider, go to https://vaxfinder.mass.gov, or dial 2-1-1 for assistance accessing a vaccine appointment.

The Town of Bedford waitlist (http://www.bedfordma.gov/VaccineWaitlist) will remain open for currently eligible residents to sign up in the unlikely event we do get more doses in the future, but again, we strongly urge residents to seek alternate venues for vaccination.

The state has informed us that second doses are on reserve for those residents who have received 1st doses. As such, all residents who were vaccinated by the Town of Bedford on February 10th or 17th will be provided a second dose, and will be contacted directly to arrange an appointment if one has not already been scheduled.
