Latest on Bedford's Snow Chance This Weekend

Initial estimations and forecasts of winter weather could make for some messy conditions later this weekend.

BEDFORD, MA — While we have enjoyed a very mild fall season and a mild start to the winter, early estimations indicate that we could be in for a dose of wintry weather later this weekend and into Monday.

At this stage, it does not appear that residents will have to stock up on the essentials in preparation for serious snow accumulations, forecasters are predicting a messy commute for Monday morning. As of Friday afternoon, it appears that snow will begin to fall on Sunday afternoon, and will continue until Monday morning before turning into rain.

The National Weather Service indicates that Bedford will likely be in for snow after 3 p.m. Sunday into Sunday night, with a high chance of snow showers after 1 a.m. Monday morning will likely feature snow, later becoming rain and snow according to the latest NWS forecast. NWS has not yet indicated projected accumulations, but shows a high in the low 30s for Sunday and mid 30s Monday.

Weather.com's latest forecast indicates snowfall totals between 1-3 inches for Sunday night, and 1-3 inches Monday later turning into rain showers.

There could be enough snow to shovel, predicts WHDH, 7-News. The news network indicates that we're in for a high in the low 30s Sunday, and upper 30s Monday with snow-sleet-rain possible.
