In recognizing programs, Intelligent.com assessed 120 universities and colleges, comparing 144 programs. The programs on the list “meet high quality standards for rigorous coursework and are generally transferrable to other regionally accredited institutions.”

According to Intelligent.com, having an associate degree or higher in the field opens up job seekers to more advanced opportunities and higher incomes. Kim Morrissey, MCC’s Hospitality and Culinary Arts Program Coordinator, emphasizes that MCC’s Hospitality Program prepares students for a variety of high-demand careers in hotel, restaurant and event management.

“Demand for professionals in these industries is growing at an unprecedented rate, especially in Massachusetts,” Morrissey said. “As Program Coordinator, I work closely with all students ensuring that they succeed in the program and are on track for their next steps.”

Curriculum for MCC’s program is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to proceed directly into the workforce or transfer to a four-year school. With small class sizes, students have access to personalized attention from professors who can help them focus on their individual goals.

As part of the program, students have an opportunity to complete an internship to gain real world experience and be exposed to job opportunities. In the past, students have interned in locations that include Disney World and Marriott Hotels.

Students can complete the Hospitality Management program online or in a hybrid mix of online and on campus courses in both the traditional 15-week semester and the accelerated eight-week Mini-mester sessions – offered twice in each of the fall and spring semester. MCC’s Spring 2022 semester started on Monday, January 24, including Mini-mester I.

The college offers five degree and certificate programs as part of the Hospitality Management program, including a Hospitality Management associate degree and certificate, a Hospitality Management Culinary Arts degree and certificate, and a Travel Services Management certificate. Specialized courses include Food and Beverage Management, Hospitality Management, Travel Services Management, and Convention and Event Planning.

The Hospitality Management program at MCC helps students go into – and succeed in – the workforce or transfer to four-year schools with its award-winning and affordable offerings, small class sizes and flexible schedules.
