WAKEFIELD - Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Wakefield Chief of Police Steven Skory have confirmed the ongoing investigation into a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred tonight around 6:26 p.m. on Main Street in the area of Hanson Street.

The preliminary investigation suggests that a woman in her 60s was struck by a man in his 50s operating a Nissan Frontier truck. The pedestrian was responsive on scene and transported by medical flight to Brigham and Women's Hospital, where she later died. 

The driver of the truck stayed on scene.
