Town Of Bedford Coronavirus Vaccine Information For March 16

The Bedford Health Department is pleased that we have been able to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to 200 Bedford residents.

March 16, 2021

The Bedford Health Department is pleased that we have been able to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to 200 Bedford residents at two clinics in February, with the capacity to do more. The limiting factor in distributing more vaccine has been the lack of supply. On February 17, we were informed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health that we unfortunately will not be provided COVID-19 vaccine doses for the foreseeable future, so at this time there are no scheduled Town of Bedford COVID-19 vaccine clinics. This is a policy change at the state level affecting most local health departments.

To view the current eligibility for the vaccine, please go to https://www.mass.gov/covid-19-vaccine. We strongly urge residents seeking vaccine, including those on the Town of Bedford vaccine wait list, to seek alternate venues for vaccination. Residents can ask their medical provider, go to https://vaxfinder.mass.gov, or dial 2-1-1 for assistance accessing a vaccine appointment. Residents can also preregister for vaccination appointments for the state's mass vaccination sites; see this page for more information: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/preregister-for-a-covid-19-vaccine-app...

The Town of Bedford waitlist (http://www.bedfordma.gov/VaccineWaitlist) will remain open for currently eligible Bedford residents to sign up in the unlikely event we do get more doses in the future, but again, we strongly urge residents to seek alternate venues for vaccination. Residents who were vaccinated by the Town of Bedford will be provided a second dose, and will be contacted directly to arrange an appointment.
