What Time is the Kentucky Derby Saturday?

BEDFORD, MA - The 2016 Kentucky Derby is this weekend, marking the beginning of this year's horse racing season after a historic 2015.

Last time out, American Pharoah made history, becoming the first horse to win the triple crown in almost 40 years.

Saturday, that all begins again.

TV coverage of the 2016 Kentucky Derby begins at 12 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network with the Kentucky Derby undercard, all of the lower races before the main event.

At 4 p.m., the coverage switches over to NBC for pre-race festivities.

The horses are scheduled to actually run at 6:34 p.m. Eastern time. The race is known as "the most exciting two minutes in sports," so you don't want to miss it.

Here's the full schedule of the day's events, courtesy of the Kentucky Derby:

• 10 a.m. — Wagering windows open to take bets.

• 5:05 p.m. — Lady Antebellum sings the National Anthem

• 6:15 p.m. — The Kentucky Derby Contenders and their Connections walk from their barn to the Paddock, in preparation for the Kentucky Derby Race.

• 6:25 p.m. — The "Rider's Up" call as the jockey's are instructed to mount their horses, and take to the track.
