Wind Advisory for Bedford Wednesday Night into Thursday

The area can expect a brief period of sustained south winds of 20 to 30 mph with a few gusts between 40 and 50 mph, according to the NWS.

BEDFORD, MA - Bedford, along with other towns within Central Middlesex County, is under a wind advisory from 10 p.m. Wednesday night until 7 a.m. Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service issued the alert for South Central and Northeast Massachusetts, along with Northwest Rhode Island and Northern Connecticut.

The area can expect a brief period of sustained south winds of 20 to 30 mph with a few gusts between 40 and 50 mph, according to the NWS. The most likely time for these winds is in heavier showers and embedded thunderstorms late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. There is even a low risk for a few gusts up to 60 mph if any strong thunderstorms develop.

Winds this strong are capable of downing small tree limbs and branches and possibly causing isolated power outages. Driving can also be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
