Allister Is Hoping For A Forever Home: Kitten Of The Month

A loving forever home would be the ideal situation for Allister, a foster home could save his life until then.

The following is from Kitty Connection:

When it comes to felines, there is truly something for everyone at Kitty Connection, a no-kill animal rescue organization based in Medford and providing adoptions throughout Greater Boston and the North and South Shores (kittyconnection.net). Below are just a few of the deserving pets waiting for forever homes. Please visit the Kitty Connection website for lots more. (Please note that due to coronavirus concerns, all adoptions will temporarily take place virtually (telephone/email/photos/videos). Adoption volunteers and foster homes will coordinate regarding pick- up of adopted pets.)

Allister is a young, strong and in good health – but has tested positive for FIV (Feline AIDS) and Felv (Feline Leukemia). FIV is rarely passed to other cats and usually only through a deep bite. Felv can be transmitted to other cats, however, so Allister needs a loving home where he would be and remain an only-cat, or where the owner already has another Felv positive cat. In short, he is in desperate need of a caring owner who will appreciate that, with love, he can live many more years. Like all Kitty Connection adoptees, Allister needs to be an indoor cat. In fact, he wouldn’t have FIV or Felv if his previous owner had kept him inside. Instead, he was abandoned. A loving forever home would be the ideal situation for Allister, but those who can’t make a long-term commitment to owning a cat might consider fostering him to save his life until the right adopter comes along.

Backstreet Gang

These are some of the many kittens looking for forever homes. Low availability of spay and neuter clinics and veterinary appointments for animal rescue groups resulted in a spike of kittens during spring 2020 – more kittens than Kitty Connection has seen in years. Besides considering adopting one or more of these cuties, please spread the word about the importance of spaying and neutering pets and get in touch with Kitty Connection if you see stray cats or kittens in your neighborhood. Trap/Spay-Neuter/Release programs can help.

If you are interested in adopting Allster, a kitten, or any available cat or dog on our website, please send a completed pre-adoption application to [email protected]. In addition, Kitty Connection is seeking volunteers to help with an upcoming silent auction that helps pay for caring and facilitating adoptions for the 450 to 500 cats and several dogs the organization rescues annually.
