BOSTON, MA — Prospective Boston condo buyers are probably aware of this fact, but allow me to say it anyway: the price of condos around the city are rising.

Last week's real estate column focused on the continued rise of median sale price for both single-family homes and condos in Massachusetts, but it also included a nugget that stuck with me throughout this week.

In the Greater Boston area, not only are home prices rising, but condos are about to cross a threshold that's intimidating for potential buyers: The average sale price of a condo is close to $600,000.

To be specific, through February 2023 the median condo price sat at $550,000. Through February 2024? $592,000.
