BOSTON, MA — A Boston police officer was hospitalized Thursday night after being hit by a suspect driving a stolen car near the Forest Hills MBTA station, according to multiple reports.

The incident was reported around 7:45 p.m. in the area of 66 Hyde Park Avenue, WCVB reported.

The police officer then fired his gun at the suspect, who was left in critical condition, according to NBC10 Boston.

Traffic was shut down on Hyde Park Avenue between Ukraine Street and The Arborway in Jamaica Plain due to police activity, police said just before 9 p.m.
