Brunch, Foodie Cruises And Cocktails: Where To Eat This Weekend

Wondering where to get the best lobster roll in the city? Allow "Boston Foodies" blogger Tiffany Lopinsky to fill you in.

It’s June 21, and that means it’s officially summer! And whether or not the weather wants to cooperate, nothing can stop me from enjoying a lobster roll. Check out some of my suggestions for what to eat and drink this weekend — some great lobster rolls, foodie cruises, pizza, creative cocktails and of course — brunch!

Lobster Rolls

Rain or shine this weekend, I’ll be kicking off summer by digging into a lobster roll at one of my favorite Boston restaurants this weekend. Try Neptune Oyster, one of the most iconic spots for a lobster roll in Boston. For a more casual setting, head to Yankee Lobster in the Seaport or Pauli’s in the North End. If you’re looking for something a little more unique, try Eventide Fenway's renowned Brown Butter Lobster Roll, served on a warm steamed bun.

Foodie Cruise

Another great option if the weather cooperates this weekend is one of the many food-centric cruises being offered by Boston Harbor Cruises (BHC) this summer. BHC has partnered with acclaimed Boston chef Barbara Lynch to create culinary cruises like the Sunset Cruise, featuring a raw bar and appetizers, the Sunday Brunch Cruise, the Luau on Spectacle Island and more.

Pizza

Feeling more like pizza and TV at home this weekend? I get that too — especially when there’s a new season of "Queer Eye" on Netflix. Some of my favorite spots to grab a box include Stoked Wood Fired Pizza in Brookline, All Star Pizza Bar in Beacon Hill, Il Mondo in the Back Bay and Ernesto’s in the North End.

Creative Cocktails

If you’re looking for a spot to grab some unique cocktails before a show in the Theatre District, or if the idea of cocktails served in a camera lens or a popcorn box intrigues you, check out The Ghost Walks. It’s a recently opened cocktail lounge from the owners behind Committee, Cafeteria and Bijou. Don’t leave without trying a few of their small plates and checking out their Champagne vending machine.

Brunch

And don’t forget, there’s always brunch! For the most delicious monkey bread and blueberry honey pancakes, check out OAK Long Bar + Kitchen at The Copley Fairmont Hotel. Or, if you find yourself in Southie on Sunday morning, jump in line at Lincoln Tavern & Restaurant. Trust me when I say their Goat Cheese Dip, Lincoln Sliders and Fruity Pebble Pancakes are worth the wait.
