"One of his most memorable job sites was helping to build Bass Pro Shop from the ground up," Medeiros' loved ones wrote. "These places he not only had the opportunity to help construct, but share great memories with his family and friends."

A GoFundMe campaign has been established to help fund college educations for Medeiros' two children, who are living out of state.

"Instead of moving into their respective colleges this week, his two children are planning for his final arrangements and grieving the sudden & tragic loss of their 'Superman,'" the children's mother wrote in the description. She added: "It was Barry's dream to witness our children earn their degrees & achieve their career & life goals."
