The Dandee Donut Factory, home to more than 50 donut varieties and delicious diner food, has selected Stone House in Roxbury as the beneficiary of its ‘Donuts That Make A Difference campaign for October 2023, in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The ‘Donuts That Make A Difference’ campaign launched in August 2023, where customers can purchase a specialized donut each month to benefit a non-profit organization. The first month benefitted MSPCA-Angell and second month supported the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. All specialty donuts sold in October 2023 will benefit Stone House, making a difference in our community by caring for and protecting adult and child survivors of domestic abuse, and helping them rebuild safe, secure, independent lives of purpose and self-fulfillment.

“While domestic violence is a concern year-round, October is recognized as Domestic Violence Awareness Month and we wanted to help a local organization that supports survivors every day.” said David Ferrara, General Manager, The Dandee Donut Factory in Revere. “We look forward to raising as much money as possible for Stone House this October to champion the incredible work they do. It’s a delicious way to make a difference.”

“Domestic violence is about more than physical, emotional, sexual and psychological acts. It’s about power and control,” said Nancy Owens Hess, Chief Executive Officer, Stone House.

“At Stone House we combine the security of a safe environment with a range of programs and services — residential and community based — to support trauma recovery, personal growth and development of essential life skills. Our overarching mission is to help participants create a path to a secure, positive and fulfilling life.”
