Celebrate Fall At One Of These These Boston Restaurants

From pumpkin ice cream to squash pasta, "Boston Foodies" blogger Tiffany Lopinsky shares some treats that will ease you into fall.

This Saturday, it’s officially fall. The temperature has been dipping below 60 degrees, a few leaves are starting to change and seasonal items are appearing on almost every restaurant menu in the city. Some have been dreading this break up with summer, and I’m not sure any of us are ready for pumpkin spice everything yet.

So instead of diving in head first into the new season, ease your way into fall with treats like butternut squash pasta, apple cider waffles and more at some of these Boston area spots.

I think most of us can enjoy pasta any day of the year. But sometimes a fall flare this time of year with some in-season produce can take a dish to the next level. The Roasted Butternut Squash Cappellacci at Tuscan Kitchen in the Seaport prove my point.

If you’re looking to stock up on some fresh fall goodies, then head to Wilson Farm in Lexington. It’s just over 10 miles from the city, and every weekend starting at 10 a.m., they serve warm apple cider donuts and freshly made caramel apples. While you’re visiting, grab some other fresh fall treats at their impressive market — pumpkins, apples, lots of fresh baked goods and so much more.

Apple Cider Waffles at Curio Coffee

Curio Coffee in Cambridge is known for their super tasty liege waffles. They change up their flavors frequently with varieties like lemon poppyseed and chocolate earl grey. In honor of fall, they’ve started serving their apple cider waffles.

Pumpkin Ice Cream at White Mountain Creamery

Right now we’re in that small window of time where pumpkin ice cream is perfect — it’s still warm enough for ice cream, and we’re just getting into fall. Get your pumpkin ice cream fix at White Mountain Creamery in Chestnut Hill.

Dumplings at Tasty Mo:Mo:

I don’t think dumplings are officially a fall thing, but they’re one of my favorite things to eat when the weather starts to get cold (along with ramen and pho!). A recent favorite of mine are Nepalese dumplings, called “momos” from Tasty Mo:Mo: in Somerville’s Magoun Square.
