Edelweiss Village, the esteemed assisted living community nestled within the Deutsches Altenheim campus, is pleased to announce construction to convert a portion of its 62-unit residence into certified memory care apartments, common areas and secure outdoor space. The design by applied Form+Space of Andover creates a safe and comfortable environment, where highly trained staff will provide round-the-clock care catering to the unique needs of memory care residents.

Aberthaw Construction Company Inc., the firm that built Edelweiss Village 16 years ago, has been entrusted with overseeing all construction details for this project. “We are delighted to collaborate once again with Aberthaw Construction Company on this exciting venture,” said Babacar Diop, CEO of Deutsches Altenheim. “Their expertise in creating secure and well-appointed spaces for specialized care aligns perfectly with our mission to provide a nurturing environment.”

Construction began on October 16th, and Aberthaw aims to complete the new apartments in just four months. Throughout the construction phase, the unaffected portion of the assisted living residence will remain operational. “We have received numerous requests for memory care assisted living, and it is gratifying to expand senior living options for West Roxbury and the surrounding community,” added Diop.
