Norwood's Castle Island Brewing Co. is simultaneously opening a new 400-seat taproom at 10 Old Colony Avenue to go hand-in-hand with the pizza.

Not all pizzas served in bars can be called "bar pizza," as authentic bar pizza is defined as a very thin pie that's pan-cooked until uniformly crisp and generously topped with traditional toppings, and usually found in coastal South Shore towns.

South Shore bar pizza is so beloved there is a Facebook group dedicated to the various locations south of Boston with almost 40,000 members who come together sharing pictures and experiences.

City bar pizza lovers have had to travel to the South Shore to spots like Town Spa in Stoughton, Lynnwood Cafe in Randolph, Venus Cafe in Whitman, Poopsie's in Pembroke, and Cape Cod Cafe in Brockton to get their fix.
