Strong To Severe Thunderstorms Expected To Sweep Into Massachusetts

After a cool few days, potentially hazardous weather conditions including flooding and hail are on the horizon as we head into the weekend.

Hefty humidity levels and high heat will also be a key factor in Friday's forecast as stronger thunderstorms make their way in the morning, with the heaviest chance of storms around 2 to 3 p.m.

BOSTON — Thursday started off cool and comfortable, full of sunshine with a light breeze, but clouds eventually will come in and bring a chance of rain late Thursday night.

Most of Thursday night will be dry until about midnight, when there will be a high chance of showers and thunderstorms that will likely not let up until Friday night.

A heavy storm coming from the west, mixed with a cold front crossing on Friday, will bring the potential for thunderstorms during the afternoon hours. Some storms may become strong to severe, with the potential for locally damaging wind gusts and isolated large hail.
