BOSTON — Ringo Starr, former Beatles drummer and current frontman of Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band, received an honorary doctorate degree from Berklee College of Music in a special ceremony Thursday.

The initial ceremony for the 2022 graduating class was in May, but Starr wasn't able to attend. Instead, he addressed the class and thanked the school in a recorded statement.

"I never went to college," Starr said in the video, "but I certainly have a lot of experience making music, so I suppose I earned it in my own way."
