Kittens Of The Month: Second Chance For Starbeam, Tiger Shark

Want some best friends? They're waiting for you.

The following was submitted by Kitty Connection.

Kittens are adorable – and sometimes irresistible for people of all ages looking to adopt. But did you know that house cats live up to 17 years on average, according to the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and can survive into their 20s? That means older people need to think twice about getting a kitten or young cat – or at least have a solid plan for the care of pets that might outlive their owners. Starbeam and Tiger Shark are two such cats. Both recently came to Kitty Connection, a no-kill animal rescue organization based in Medford and providing adoptions throughout Greater Boston and the North and South Shores. Please visit www.kittyconnection.net for lots more potential adoptees, and consider giving an older cat a forever home.

Starbeam is an eight-year-old Siamese sweetheart, whose deceased owner bequeathed her to someone unable to care for her. Although timid, Starbeam is very affectionate, gentle, and curious and enjoys cozying up in anything soft and fluffy. She is the perfect fit for a single person or a calm couple or family living in a peaceful, quiet place.
