“Every ending is a new beginning” – or so the saying goes. You could make it come true for Poncho and Lobo, two boy cats who lost their homes and families at the end of 2020. They are among many pets currently seeking adoption through Kitty Connection, a no-kill animal rescue organization based in Medford and providing adoptions throughout Greater Boston and the North and South Shores.

Eight-year-old Lobo was heartbroken when his former owner could no longer keep him, but he is adjusting with patience and encouragement from his foster mom. A real sweetie, Lobo likes to follow his human around, thriving on pats and love. He gets along with other cats and needs a home where another cat or people are home more often than not. He is looking for companionship and will give it back to you in spades.

Poncho’s owner died, leaving him and his housemates homeless. All except Poncho have now found new homes. Although FIV positive, five-year-old Poncho is healthy with a long life ahead of him. He will need some space and time to build trust and become comfortable in a new environment, but he is already showing progress in his foster home - gaining courage to jump up to a cat tree, enjoy treats, and sit in the window to observe the world. Poncho enjoys the company of other cats but would be fine as an only cat too. What he needs most is a compassionate new owner with the time and patience to help him overcome his recent loss.
