North Shore Man Charged In Boston Common Shooting Causing Critical Injuries

Boston police said the Lynnfield man is facing gun and drug charges Tuesday and a victim suffered life-threatening gunshot wounds.

BOSTON, MA — A North Shore man who is accused of a shooting that caused life-threatening wounds near Park Street station in Boston Common on Monday night and then leading police on a foot chase through the Common has been charged with gun and drug charges.

Boston police said Dana Loder, of 30, Lynnfield was seen running from the scene of the gunshots at about 10 p.m. on Monday while "clutching the front of his waistband with both hands." Police said a foot chase in the Common followed with the pursuing officer seeing Loder toss the gun while running.

Police said they caught up to the suspect near 131 Tremont Street and were able to find the gun believed to be the one used in the shooting.

Loder was expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on Tuesday on charges of carrying a gun without a license, second offense, possession of ammunition without an FID card and possession of crack cocaine.
