BOSTON, MA--Monday marked the 128th running of the Boston Marathon. The small town of Hopkinton marked its 100th anniversary as the starting line for the race. The marathon saw more than 30,000 runners compete in this year's race.

Switzerland's Marcel Hug won the men's wheelchair race for the seventh time. Hug finished the race in an hour 15 minutes and 33 seconds. Britain's Eden Rainbow-Cooper won the women's wheelchair race, which was her first major marathon victory at an hour 35 minutes and 11 seconds.

Sisay Lemma of Ethiopia ran alone for most of the marathon, winning the men's division in 2 hours, 6 minutes, 17 seconds. Lemma set the 10th fastest time in the race's 128 years. Hellen Obiri captured her second-in-a-row marathon win clocking in at 2 hours, 22 minutes, and 37 seconds, Obiri faced a tight race between herself and Sharon Lokedi until she finally pulled away at mile 25.
